Biomimicry often involves reinterpreting biological strategies for technical applications, a process that requires deep understanding and creativity. AR addresses common challenges, such as:

  • Prototype Failures: By simulating environmental forces and interactions in AR, users can test the feasibility of bio-inspired designs virtually, reducing costly trial-and-error iterations in the physical world. 
  • Dynamic Adaptation: AR's ability to simulate environmental variability (e.g., light, fluid dynamics) offers insights into how bio-inspired designs might perform under real-world conditions, allowing for necessary adjustments before physical prototyping (Ciloglu & Ustun, 2023)
