1.3 What is Ecosystem Restoration?

Ecosystem restoration is the process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged, or destroyed. The goal is to return the ecosystem to a healthy, resilient, and self-sustaining state, often resembling its historical condition or at least a functional state that provides essential services.
