Students at a secondary school in Singapore participated in workshops focused on biomimicry in architecture. Using an AR application, they could scan natural objects (e.g., a leaf, a bone) and see augmented information about its structural properties and potential architectural applications. They then used AR to overlay virtual bio-inspired facade designs onto miniature building models, receiving immediate visual feedback on how the designs could improve energy efficiency (Tan & Lim, 2021).
