Many effects of climate change on biodiversity cannot be observed directly in everyday life. Examples include coral bleaching, melting polar ice, changing migration routes, or ecosystem collapse. AR applications such as Google Arts & Culture – Expeditions allow students to explore realistic 3D models of coral reefs, forests, and endangered species affected by climate change (UNESCO, n.d.).

Through these visual experiences, students can better understand how rising temperatures, ocean acidification, and habitat loss affect living organisms. Seeing ecosystems in AR helps learners understand relationships between species and their environments, instead of memorising isolated facts.
