This section explains how Augmented Reality (AR) deepens students’ understanding of regenerative medicine by making complex biological processes visible, interactive, and meaningful. In this unit, AR is used to support learning about lab-grown organs by allowing students to explore biological structures and bio-inspired technologies that cannot be accessed in a traditional classroom.
3.1 How AR Strengthens Learning about Lab-Grown Organs
Topics such as stem cells, tissue regeneration, and organ complexity are often abstract and difficult to imagine. AR helps overcome these challenges by transforming scientific concepts into tangible visual experiences.
Through AR-supported learning, students can:
- observe cell-to-tissue formation in three dimensions,
- explore layered organ structures, such as the human heart,
- understand the role of blood vessel networks in sustaining living tissue,
