Construction is a sector whose impact on pollution is by no means negligible. Among the branches pertaining to bio-architecture is bioclimatic architecture, the objective of which is to design solutions that can guarantee good building insulation, while also exploiting the natural elements present in the area concerned such as, for example, the sun, water, soil and flora. There are many bioclimatic structures that make it possible to avoid heat loss and exploit the sun's rays to one's advantage, favoring a pleasant indoor microclimate and avoiding the excessive use of heating or cooling systems that, clearly, presuppose the use of raw materials such as methane gas or electricity, which, moreover, does not always come from renewable sources. According to a study produced by the University of California, the use of air-conditioning systems will become increasingly widespread in the future for two main reasons: on the one hand, the rise in temperatures already triggered by global warming, and on the other, the fact that many more people will be able to afford them and, therefore, use them in their homes.

An article in The Guardian even talks about a real trap: global warming causes temperatures to rise, making people more inclined to use air conditioning; the use and abuse of air conditioning at the same time contributes to global warming [source]. 

The bioclimatic branch, therefore, thanks to its techniques in the building sector, can come to the aid of citizens, limiting the use of devices that modify the domestic microclimate.
